The Arkema Thiochemical Plant

Arkema is today one of the world leaders in thiochemicals (sulfur based chemicals). Arkema has been operating in Europe and the United States and now they start up of a new thiochemicals platform in Kerteh, Malaysia. Their very first plant in Asia. This Kerteh plant produces methy mercaptan for the use in the manufacture of biomethionine for the animal feed market as well as DMDS earmarked for Asia’s petrochemicals and refining players.

LTE was engaged as the Civil and Structural engineers in association with a multinational turnkey contractor, Foster Wheeler Sdn Bhd for the design and supervision of the buildings & pipe racks, foundation supports for machineries, and all related infra works for the entire project.

The plant was successfully completed in time and started operation since 2015.
